God is a masterful, imaginative Creator. He created us so that we would honor and glorify him. Our bodies are masterpieces of form and function. Pick any organ... how about our eyes, they are a set of complex perfection. Not only did God create us to be in relationship with Him, but others. "This is my command: Love each other." John 15:17 "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help the other up." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 We were created to be in relationship with each other. The Bible tells us that it is a good thing to love others, to sharpen each other, grow each other and walk alongside and comfort each other. We can be Jesus in the flesh to one another! "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Being in community takes patience, wisdom, forgiveness, trust and vulnerability. It takes us out of our comfort zone and challenges us to do what is best for ourselves... not just what feels best in the moment. Doing what is good for us is difficult sometimes... just ask my treadmill and cookie jar!
